On 6 October 2026, OPEN BOOKS, the literary festival accompanying the Frankfurt Book Fair, will open with the Blue Sofa. Guests include Saxony-Anhalt’s former Minister-President Reiner Haseloff, presenting his book »Nicht mit unserem Land« (Herder); author Ingo Schulze (»Das Wasser im August«, Fischer); and historian Andrea Wulf (»Der Reisende«, C.Bertelsmann). In addition, the winner of the 2026 German Book Prize, announced the previous day, will make their first major public appearance here.
The Blue Sofa opening event for OPEN BOOKS is presented by Bertelsmann in cooperation with the Frankfurt am Main Department of Culture and the German National Library.
