Christiane Wirtz hosts readings, teaches creative writing, and writes novels. Her most recent book, »Wie schwer wiegt ein Schatten« (How Heavy Is a Shadow), was published by Dumont in the spring of 2025. Throughout all of this, she remains fascinated by the many ways there are to tell a story to oneself and to others. In her previous careers, she worked as a journalist for the Süddeutsche Zeitung and Deutschlandfunk, served as a spokesperson for the Federal Minister of Justice and the Federal Government, and headed the Federal Ministry of Justice as State Secretary.
