The Blue Sofa with Luxembourg author Elise Schmit

March 25, 2026 | 7 PM | Institut Pierre Werner Luxembourg

On 25 March 2026, Luxembourg author Elise Schmit will present her new book »Allgemeine Zweifel am weiteren Verlauf« (A General Uncertainty About the Future) on The Blue Sofa at the Pierre Werner Institute.

In nine short stories, Elise Schmit traces moments of transition in which familiar structures begin to dissolve while the future remains unresolved. Her characters yearn for change, for an escape from their own lives, yet are equally held back by fear. Gradually, these narratives coalesce into a subtle and compelling portrait of a society searching for connection and ways beyond isolation.

In cooperation with the Pierre Werner Institute Luxembourg.
