Fabio „Flaco” Lozano was the youngest and most successful detective inspector on Gran Canaria until he was bullied out of his job on a completely unfounded suspicion of corruption. Now he ekes out a living as a security guard for an eccentric hotel owner.

When Flaco stumbles across the body of a man with a bloody pitchfork sticking out of his chest on the beach of the luxury hotel in Meloneras, his boss is less than thrilled – unlike his ex-colleagues on the police force. Flaco has a history with the victim, which makes him the number one suspect. He has only one chance: to save his own skin, he will have to investigate on his own and find the real killer. His search takes him all over the island and repeatedly puts him in mortal danger.
