Assaf Gavron was born in 1968, grew up in Jerusalem, and studied in London and Vancouver. He now lives with his family in Tel Aviv. He has published several novels and a short story collection and is a bestselling author in Israel. Gavron has translated authors such as Jonathan Safran Foer and J.D. Salinger into Hebrew, is the lead singer and songwriter for the cult Israeli band The Mouth and Foot, and co-developed the video game Peacemaker, which simulates the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
