A childhood and adolescence in a state of emergency – and a girl who becomes the heroine of her own story.
Lale grows up in 1980s Berlin in a men’s commune where parties are celebrated and revolutions are planned. She is allowed to stay up as long as she wants, eat sweets, and watch endless television. Yet she longs for security and reliability, while her own boundaries are repeatedly crossed. Walking the fine line between freedom and neglect, Lale searches for her path, teeters at the edges, and years later finds stability in storytelling itself.
Authentic, vulnerable, and charged with poetic intensity.
