About the happiness of having a real friend, about childhood, hope and despair – a story from the heart of our present-day world.
Since arriving in Bovenmeer a year ago, Tristan has sat next to Jimmy at school. Jimmy, who is smarter and lonelier than everyone else and has made it his job to accompany Tristan Ibrahimi through the school year. For not only has Tristan experienced a war and a flight across Europe, but he also has what Jimmy longs for most: a large, intact family that offers support and security.
Together they build their own world full of secret places and a language they both understand, a world in which friendship is possible. Until someone makes a decision that endangers more than just their world and tests Jimmy and Tristan’s limits.
